Oh, the exciting life...

Where do we start? I would love to copy a friend of mines blog about their wonderful adventures of shopping for lovely dust sucking machine, but we've got way more exciting things happening here... NOT! (Sorry, my dear friend, but I had to mention it)

The Earth Shattering News here at the homefront.... Wait, I've got to think about this a bit, its that exciting here. Somedays it often feels like the movie Groundhog Day. we say the same things over and over again here... for example, "mommy/Daddy are you happy??

On that note, since Kylie loves to ask that question in the middle of one of the twins SCREAMING, Kylie got a taste of her own medicine this weekend. Kylie has become quite the computer guru and was involved with her "DORA" game. (Nana, call her for assistance next time, she'll probably know the answer). Chris was interrupting her concentration and she was not enjoying it. She turned her body around and looked at her Dad and said,m "Daddy, you are being annoying!" and then went back to her game like nothing happened. Now, what 2 year old says that?!?!? Boy, we've got a lot to look forward to, huh?

Anika and Shay decided tonight was a good night to fight... Anika was on the ground batting at the baby wipes and enjoying herself. Shay decided she wanted in on the action and started batting at it too. But, Shay wanted the wipes. Anika did not want to share. Shay started hitting Anika's arm out to the way. Shay got the wipes. Shay 1, Anika 0.

And Odin.... well, he is too lazy to get involved in any fights between the girls. He often takes his naps far from the girls and in places he should not, like on the bed. Its no wonder the bed is warm all the time. Oh, the life of a dog!

The twins at 4-5 months-- Anika closest to you and Shay in the back.. not fighting here-- yet.

Certainly does not look like Daddy is annoying here does it?

And finally, Odin.... Rough life he lives here.

Life with kids and the fast aging process they provide....

In our free time, we've come up with a list of aging issues our children have provided for us-- entertainment and lots of sarcasm, so hopefully you can enjoy a laugh or two, cause we did!

**Instead of singing the newest "hit" sing we instead are humming a tune to Kylie's favorite show-- DAMN DORA!

**You can't remember what you or if you ate a meal-- breakfast, lunch or dinner-- but you can remember that you had a cup of coffee.

**You realize that your kids have nicer clothes than you do--- funny how that happens-- probably not that surprising seeing our shopping habits.

**You start sounding like you mother-- "if you don't eat your vegetables, you'll end up like this (and that is when Nana shows a pictures of someone having surgery).. I haven't gotten to that point yet.

**You start talking to yourself and have regular conversations--- its amazing what you can accomplish by doing this. (Plus, the voices don't talk back on a regular basis)

**You look in your refrigerator and you have more sippy cups and baby bottles than any other beverage bottle.

**You barely stay awake through the 10 o'clock news.

**You start watching the weather channel constantly because you cannot remember what the weather is supposed to be like for eight minutes!!! -- good thing its weather on the eights or we'd be in trouble here!

**You scroll the TV shows to look for kids shows and PRAY that it is not going to be a rerun because there is only so many times you can watch DORA "Pirate Adventure"-- I'm the pirate pig, I'm the pirate pig"

**You get into you car and its on the kids station or there is a kids CD in there-- "We are the Dinosaurs, marching, marching..." AHHHHH!!! Shoot me now!

**Your laundry is all your kids- forget washing your clothes-- and in this house, why bother when you constantly get puked on??

**You never shower alone-- there is always someone interrupting you-- "Mommy, are you happy?" "Mommy are you done yet?" "Mommy, I am hungry!" "Mommy I need more juice please!" "Mommy are you doing to wear shorts or pants?" "Mommy are you going to wear a red shirt or a blue shirt?" "Mommy, Shay and Anika are screaming again, can you fix it NOW!!!!"

**Wonder if Fisher-Price has a partnership with Duracell... they seem to have toys that run out of batteries in a flash of a light. What's with that?

**And last, do toy manufacturers only have three colors? I mean seriously, everything is yellow, blue or red? Is that all babies like?

I am sure many of you can relate-- any to add to the list?? I am sure we are missing a boatload, but in our sleepless stupor we miss quite a bit on every issue.

Until next time...... Are you sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to hear what these girls do to us next... I can't wait for the teenage years! HA!

The Phone..

The Phone, the phone is ringing... (the theme song to the Wonder Pets for all of you who are lucky enough to not have to watch it)...

Yes, the phone is ringing here... and more often than not, we do not answer it. Some people are starting to get complexes because we do not answer the phone, but truthfully, I don't think you want to hear what is on the other end when we answer. For example, 5pm this evening....

5 pm, Anika is awake playing on the ground-- temporarily happy.
5 pm, Kylie is waking up from her late nap-- not happy, in tears
5 pm Shay is overtired and desperately needs to nap.

5:05-- Anika is now crying. she is hungry
5:06-- Kylie is out of her room, tears because she choose to not eat lunch or a snack when we got back from the Botanic Gardens at 2:00 and is now STARVING.
5:07-- Now Shay is just beyond pissed-- not she is hungry AND needs a NAP!
5:08-- I need a mudslide!

5:15-- now we've got Anika and Shay in their seats eating bananas but not really all that happy.
5:16- -Kylie is still whining because her hot dog is too hot and the soup is not hot enough. ARRRRR

5:20-- I still need a mudslide!!

5:25- Kylie is crying cause her sister are screaming. (note-- now the hot dog will be too cold and the soup will be REALLY cold).

Between 5:25-6:00-- its all a blur-- in that time, somehow, Kylie gets out of her funk and is now playing with all her farm animals and puppies. Anika is now in her "exerciser" otherwise known as the exersaucer and Shay is STILL SCREAMING, but now in her crib.

6:01-- still need something to drink and just realized, that I don't think I ate lunch either..
6:02-- humm.. what's for dinner? Probably should work on that one seeing its after 6.

6:15--Chris is home (i think) and Shay is still screaming in her crib, Anika is now whining again and Kylie is asking for a computer game (otherwise known as the video of herself playing with the girls).
6:16-- still need to find something for dinner.
6:17-- Chris is trying to get to the bathroom without having a visitor. But instead gets questions from Kylie outside the door-- "Daddy are you happy?" "Daddy are going pee or poop?" "Daddy are you happy?" "Daddy are you home to play with me?" "Daddy is night time or day time?" "Daddy, can you fix Shay?" "Daddy are you happy?" "Daddy what are you doing?" And this goes on for about another 10 minutes of constant questions-- meanwhile, we've got two screamers-- both of which are desperately needing naps.

Fast Forward to 7:00-- Anika is passed out in the swing, Kylie is watching the video of herself for the 10000 time today, and Chris is with Shay trying to get her to calm down and sleep. yes, screaming since after 5. Oh, the joys..

7:30-- "Mommy, are you happy?" "Mommy, I need my super secret strawberry milk!" "Mommy, do you need help" "Mommy are you happy?" "Mommy I need to use to potty!" "Mommy, I need my DORA pajamas, not the puppy ones." "Mommy I need a princess pullup." "Mommy, the cat scares me, can you move her?" Oh boy-- and yes, still trying to work on that meal called dinner.

7:35-- Start the marathon reading session while Chris is still trying to get Shay to crash. meanwhile, Anika wakes up and wants to read with Kylie.

7:50-- the reading is almost over, but Anika now is not thrilled with the book choices and is now complaining.

7:55-- Kylie is now in bed, with her 75 stuffed animals. Let's hope she crashes soon.

7:57-- Chris is still working with Shay, but improvements have been made, she is not screaming constantly...

8:10-- Shay is in bed but not with a full belly. We'll see how long this lasts tonight-- we can pray for 4 AM.

8:15 Anika is now needing to be fed and changed.

8:30- Anika in bed-- passed out cold.

9:30-- Kylie's music is still going in her room. Almost there.

9:40-- Groan at the thought of having to wash the dishes, clean up the toys (so if in the middle of the night we don't kill ourselves stepping on them), and make the next days worth of bottles. We are hopeful we'll get to bed before 11..... just maybe! :) Oh yeah-- what did we have for dinner?

But, all in all, they are keepers, even if that means they have aged us two-fold in the past 5 months.

So.....to ease your complexes-- we are home, but the likelihood of us answering is slim... hang in there, we'll get back to you are some point... really!

videos and posts

Hi all

with Family being so far away we wanted to have a place where you can see how the kids are doing and growing.just click on the video to the right and it will play. We will try to keep them short. Kylie is a real ham but Shay was a bit reticent. Anika has that Norweigian difficult streak, just like her mommy, a true PITA.
